I can genuinely say that I have never felt lonely during my travels. Just because I solo travel, that doesn't mean I'm alone! I often stay in hostels and meet other travelers on my journeys and will go out and explore with them. I have made friends from all over the world this way! And more often than not, solo travelers tend to stick together and lookout for one another. :-)
A combination of saving money and traveling frugally. When I first started traveling in 2017, I was still living back at home with my family to save money on rent and worked part-time at a restaurant in between trips. While abroad, staying in hostels and saving money on food by cooking at the accommodation stretches my funds even further (and leaves more room in my budget for activities!!) I've also got a knack for finding some killer airfare deals ;-) Read more about how I find cheap flights here!
I predominantly shoot with a Canon EOS 6D and a Canon EF 35mm lens. When I first started traveling I was shooting with a mirrorless camera and eventually upgraded to my first DSLR in 2017. My first few solo trips in 2018 were captured on a Canon EOS 80D and the kit lens, but unfortunately that camera decided to take a swim in the ocean while I was traveling through Belize... RIP.
